EXCLUSIVE: Premiering the Video for King Dude’s “Death Won’t Take Me”

A barren stage is forsaken in a veil of smoke; a guitar case is left propped open as a casket waiting to welcome its final inhabitant; a solitary light shines on to illuminate a scene with little explanation and yet so many implications:  This is the grim vision that so briefly welcomes its audience to King Dude‘s latest video, “Death Won’t Take Me.”  It happens so quickly that one is likely to miss it entirely, but everything about this snapshot in time is a scripted metaphor for what TJ Cowgill‘s stage character has become—truly a modern man in black, equal parts Johnny Cash, Steve Von Till, and Douglas P.
